School Report Card
Letter from the Principal
October 15, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Federal guidelines require that schools provide you with updates about our school’s overall achievement through the North Carolina School Report Card (SRC). This school report card includes important information about each individual school as well as student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, student discipline, instructional resources, and teacher quality. (A complete version of the SRC is available online at https://ncreports.ondemand.sas.com/src/.)
Specifically, North Carolina evaluates its schools based on End-of-Grade (EOG) assessment proficiency and overall student growth (by measuring expected progress against actual progress). During the 2024-25 school year, Cuthbertson Middle School (CMS) received a school performance total of 84, which equates to a North Carolina report card grade of “B” with a ‘meets expectation’ student growth designation. While we are proud of many areas of progress, we recognize that this represents a change from last year’s “A” grade. The data shows that we experienced declines in specific areas that affected our overall rating. We take these results seriously and view them as an opportunity to strengthen our practices.
Our commitment to excellence has not changed. We remain focused on high expectations, continuous improvement, and ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education. We are confident that these steps will move us back to an “A” grade while, more importantly, supporting meaningful student learning and growth.
Moving forward, our teachers & staff are dedicated to providing a high-quality, standards-based education that is focused on student learning and data-driven results. Our teachers will be utilizing student data to inform daily instruction & work with small groups of students within their classrooms to both remediate and enrich instruction regularly. There's a sense of urgency to close any learning gaps; each instructional minute counts for our CAVS.
As always, we appreciate the opportunity to serve your child and your ongoing support of the work underway at our school.
Sincerely,
Catherine Perry
Principal
